The children spend around 3-4 hours in LKG in a day and are engaged in a wide range of lessons, learning activities and recreational activities. The term was coined by the German Friedrich Fröbel, whose approach globally influenced early-years education. Such institutions were originally created in the late 18th century in Bavaria and Alsace to serve children whose parents both worked outside home. Lower Kindergarten (LKG) is a preschool educational approach based on playing, singing, practical activities such as drawing, and social interaction as part of the transition from home to school. It is a German word which literally means “garden for children”. ![]() Kindergarten specifies a babysitter or nursery school for the 3-4 years old children. The full form of LKG is “ Lower Kindergarten“.
